Get to know a little bit more about the staff who work year-round at Crystal Mountain.
John Kircher, President & General Manager
John Kircher is second generation ski area management, having grown up in the business. When he was born his dad drove his mom halfway to the hospital in a slope groomer. From then on it was all downhill, working in all of the various sections of the ski and resort business including hotels and restaurants as well as the mountain operations and maintenance. Not counting those early years up to age 22, he’s been in the ski industry for almost 30 years on a daily basis. He is a principle in Boyne resorts which operates 9 ski resorts from coast to coast and one in Canada. In addition to daily duties as general manager of Crystal Mountain, he also oversees daily operations at the Summit at Snoqualmie, WA, Brighton, Utah and Cypress Mountain, B.C. He averages at least 110 days on skis!

Bill is a third generation Californian from the Bay Area. He graduated from California College of the Arts in 1968, with a BFA degree in Interior Design. After working professionally for three years for a commercial interior design firm, he was drafted into the US Army and sent off to Vietnam. While in Vietnam Bill was accepted as one of five combat artists, and sent to Korea to artistically record Army troop lives. Upon return to the States, like many Vets Bill was trying to adjust to civilian life. He took a job as a lift operator in February 1971 with Crystal Mountain; so he could unwind and play around before returning to the work force. Bill went from lift operator to ski patrol, carpenter, Ski Patrol Director, to Mountain Manager in his first six years with the company. From there he went on to Base Area Manager, and Director of Planning; where he continues to still play around at Crystal.
Major accomplishments while at CM: NSPS Certified Professional Patroller, Ski Patrol Director, First Mountain Manger for CM, Washington State Certified Group 2 Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator, Washington State Certified Water, Distribution Manager 2, & Water Treatment Operator 1, Getting CM’s Master Development Plan approved by the US Forest Service, which took from 1995 to 2004.

Tiana Enger, Director of Sales & Marketing
Tiana grew up in nearby Greenwater, WA. At the age of 2 her parents had her on skis, in a pink one-piece cruising down the bunny hill. She was rewarded for her good grades with a “sick day“ (aka midweek blue-bird day at Crystal). At the age of 16 she decided to try snowboarding and ended up ditching her skis for nearly 8 years. After graduating from high school she went on to study Communications & Marketing at the University of Washington. Upon graduating from college in 2001 she interviewed for a job at Crystal Mountain as the Sales & Marketing Assistant. Needless to say she got the job (thanks Stacy) and the rest is history.

Erin Grager, Accounting & Human Resources Manager
Born and raised in Enumclaw, WA Erin has been working at Crystal Mountain since 1996. She enjoys snow shoeing when she has the opportunity – which isn’t often since people would rather she work on payroll than play in the snow! You’ll often see her accompanied by her beloved chocolate lab, Jasper. In the off season Erin can often be found at Disneyworld with her two nieces and nephew who live in Florida. At home she enjoys gardening, baking and playing ball with Jasper.
