07/08

The installation of a new fixed grip chairlift from the 4,930' elevation (just to the south of the lower Northway trail) to the top of Northway Peak, elevation 6776’. This opens 1,000 acres of new lift serviced terrain.

A traverse from Elk Pass to Northway Peak.

The Summit House restaurant was updated and upgraded to a much nicer facility and will now be a full-service sit down restaurant with a new menu including fresh Northwest cusine.

The buildings in the base area were all painted a new, modern color, including the interior of the day lodge.

Two employee dorms were completely remodeled.

06/07

New ski rental fleet (300 Salomon X-Wing’s)

Resurfaced the lower parking lots and repaved the high-traffic areas of the upper parking lot.

On the Northway traverse (approximately 2,000 feet in length) we installed logs on to rock backs which

were hydro seeded to promote vegetation growth.

On Queens ski trail we have had a section were the stream has on occasion jumped it's bank causing an

erosion problem to this run. We are installing two berms and 3 waterbars to divert any surface flow back

towards Campbell Creek. Gullies which had formed from previous overflowing water will be filled and

revegetated.

To protect a wetland in the vicinity of the run out to Lower Bull Run this area has been roped off. We will

allow it to naturally revegetate with Hemlocks, Alder and Cottonwood.

A new log lift building for the top station of our Gold Hill chairlift is presently under construction and will be

ready for the ski season.

Heated pavers were installed from the plaza area over to the entrance to kids club.

05/06

Crystal Mountain replaces old website with new, easy to navigate site including addition of a Photo and Video Gallery. This completely new site was constructed by a team of web developers from Electric Arrow, a Seattle-based website company. In addition, a new web cam was placed at the top of the Gold Hills chairlift, which will provide a panoramic view of the area with a live feed directly to the site. In conjunction with the website, Crystal created a new logo providing a fresh, modern look and feel.

The lower parking lots were resurfaced over the summer with RAP (recycled asphalt pavement), which was donated by Tucci & Sons and came from the old Hwy. 123. This material will pack nicely to provide a smooth parking surface. What a great concept…use old roads to make new parking lots!

Crews also worked to restore the area surrounding the Campbell Basin Lodge. 600 yards of topsoil was spread as part of a re-vegetation project.

The trails were flagged and reviewed by the US Forest Service for the Northway lift in the North Backcountry. The installation of this new lift is scheduled to take place the summer of 2007.

04/05

Construction of the Campbell Basin Lodge was completed the summer of 2004. This new 12,500 square foot lodge, costing $4.1 million, will be open to the public daily during the ski season. The Campbell Basin Lodge is located at the top of the Forest Queen chairlift, and provides an upscale food court for skiers and snowboarders to grab lunch without having to go all the way to the base area.

Crystal Mountain also received the Record of Decision (ROD) from the U.S. Forest Service for its Master Development Plan (MDP). The ROD came following an in-depth review of the Draft Environmental Impact Study (DEIS) issued August 2001. Crystal Mountain plans to begin with the first phase of the approved plan the summer of 2006, with the installation of a 100-passenger tram that will carry people from the base directly to the summit area.

Crystal Mountain was ranked 7th on SKIING magazine’s November 2004 list of North America’s top twenty-five ski resorts. This was the third time a ski area in Washington has been included in this list, the first was three years ago when Crystal was ranked 25th, and the second time was two years when Crystal was ranked 12th. The Top-25 list is part of SKIING’s November “Killer Trips” issue which provides skiers with the ultimate guide to mountain adventure.

Crystal Mountain and E-Quest, Inc. have partnered to provide wireless Internet service. With the Skiosk Internet network, Crystal Mountain guests will be able to access the internet via terminals located in the Main Day Lodge, or via their own WiFi enabled device (e.g., laptop, PDA). The Skiosk Internet season or daily pass can be purchased at www.skiosk.com

Crystal also added two new Pisten Bully snowcats: one free groomer and one winch cat the summer of 2004. The addition of these machines to the current fleet will increase grooming by 20%.

Finally, guests will enjoy more room on their favorite runs as we spent a good portion of the summer months doing trail work, or as we like to call it: trimmin’ and delimbin’!
